Salix babylonica

Salix babylonica, commonly known as the weeping willow, is a fast-growing deciduous tree with long, pendulous branches and narrow green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. Often planted near water, it creates a soft, arching canopy that adds movement and shade to the landscape. It typically grows to around 10 to 15 metres high and wide, making it suitable for larger gardens or open spaces.

Best planted in full sun with moist, free-draining soil. Performs well in damp or low-lying areas and is tolerant of periodic wet conditions. Allow plenty of space for its mature size and avoid planting near pipes or drains, as it has a vigorous root system. Minimal pruning required aside from shaping or removing damaged growth.
