Here are a few frequently asked questions we get here at The Plant Store. Just click the question to see the answer. Please make sure to look through all of these before contacting us with a general enquiry.

Shipping

Your order should arrive within a 14 day period upon day of payment.

Shipping is set at $14.99 and will not increase or decrease regardless if it’s 1 plant or 1000 plants.

Yes you can. If for any reason your product does not reach you in satisfactory order, contact us upon receiving the goods and a full refund will be made once the goods have been returned. All damaged plants will either be refunded or replaced, whichever you (the customer) decides, claims must be made within 3 days of goods arriving.

Product

No, we are an online store only and we source our plants from all over New Zealand from the countries best growers. This gives us New Zealand’s biggest variety of plants, direct to you from us.

 

You may notice with certain plants there’s a few different grade variants. A pot or a PB. A pot and it’s size is pretty self-explanatory. A 2.5 litre pot is exactly that. A pot that has a volume of 2.5 litres. A PB, or pint bag, however is slightly different. A pint is 600ml, so if you see a PB5, it means it holds 5 pints of volume. 5 pints is roughly 2.8L.

 

Here are a list of most of the PB sizes we use and what volume they hold:

 

PB3 - 1.7L

PB5 -  2.8L

PB6.5 - 3.5L

PB8 - 4.5L

PB12 - 6.75L

PB18 - 10L

PB28 - 12L

PB40 - 18L

Considering we utilize a vast amount of plant growers, our availability is better than most. However, it needs to be understood that a plant is not a cake. We cannot just whip something up on demand. Plants are seasonal, living breathing things. The best time of the year to purchase in general is late Winter to early Spring when availability is at its highest and is also the best time to plant.

Not necessarily. Currently, there are a lot of plants that we can supply to you, but just aren't listed on the website at this point in time. This is due to new product becoming available all the time and we don't have enough hours in the day to put all these products up for purchase currently. So if you can't find something you're after on the website, just either call or email us and we'll get back to you within 24 business hours.

 

There’s nothing worse than finding what you were looking for is out of stock. But the good news is, you can be notified when it’s back in stock as soon as we know. If you click on a product and it says it’s not in stock , there’s a button below called Notify Me.

Notify Me

Simply click this, put your email address in and click save. This way, as soon as the item is back in stock, you will be sent an email telling you it’s available for purchase again. You can add as many items as you like to your notifications list. For a quick look at your list, you can click the Notifications link at the top of any page.

Pricing

Yes we are. We try our best to have our retail prices beat or match mainstream nurseries. Our flat-rate delivery fee of only $14.99 across New Zealand is also difficult to beat.

Garden Designs/Plans

Certainly do. In fact, if you’re lucky enough to live in either the Southland or Central Otago regions, we can give you a free garden consultation on site. Our consultants come out with a drone to fully scope the area you’re wanting advice on. Loaded with their fresh ideas and years of horticulture knowledge, our consultants will offer you planting solutions at a competitive price.
