Podocarpus Maki

Podocarpus macrophyllus Maki, also known as Maki Yew Pine, is a compact and elegant evergreen shrub that brings a refined touch to any garden setting. Also known as the Dwarf Yew Pine, this variety is prized for its slow-growing, upright habit and deep green, needle-like foliage.

It responds very well to pruning or shearing, is ideal for formal hedges and privacy screens, and is a fine candidate for topiary forms such as a tight column, narrow pyramid, or poodle tier and pompom.

It's perfect for filling those narrow spaces in foundation plantings and accentuating or framing entryways. A very tough, adaptable and handsome plant that thrives in the most adverse conditions; grows well in full sun, and shade, and is drought, heat, and humidity tolerant. In cold climates, Maki Podocarpus can be grown in a sunny solarium.

Once established, it requires minimal care, making it an ideal choice for those looking to add a touch of evergreen elegance without the upkeep.

Mature height is 3m and width 2m.
