Phlox White Cushion

Phlox subulata White Cushion, commonly known as Creeping Phlox, is an enchanting evergreen perennial that transforms gardens with its profusion of white flowers. Flowering vigorously in mid to late spring, it creates a stunning visual blanket over the dark green, needle-like foliage, offering a vibrant display for approximately 3-4 weeks. This variety is particularly strong and vigorous, forming a lovely cushion that adds a splash of colour to the front of borders, rockeries, and slopes. With a growth habit of about 15cm in height and spreading up to 60cm wide, it adds year-round lush green interest, resembling moss in its texture and density.

Ideal for planting in full sun with good drainage, White Cushion is drought tolerant, making it a low-maintenance choice for gardeners. It's an excellent selection for rock gardens, slopes, edgings, or as a ground cover, and it beautifully complements tulips and daffodils and attracts butterflies. This hardy plant is trouble-free, salt-resistant, and requires little care beyond shearing back after the flowering period to maintain its neat form and encourage new growth for even more flowers the following year. Thriving in sandy or gravelly soils, it prefers humusy, medium moisture, well-drained conditions, and is suited to a range of soil types including chalk, loam, and sand, with a preference for alkaline to neutral pH levels.
