Nemesia Sunsatia Cherry on Ice

Nemesia Sunsatia Cherry on Ice is a compact, evergreen perennial known for its striking bicolour flowers - deep cherry red with contrasting white lower petals - that appear from early Spring through to late Autumn. The vivid colouring and lightly scented flowers add bold, long-lasting interest to garden beds, pots, and hanging baskets.

Ideal for cottage, contemporary, or coastal gardens, Nemesia Sunsatia Cherry on Ice is perfect for borders, edging, containers, or mixed displays. It thrives in full sun to partial shade with free-draining soil and benefits from regular deadheading to maintain continuous flowering. Space approximately 20-25 cm apart for a full, mounded effect.

Forms a compact, mounding plant approximately 25 cm high and 30 cm wide.

Trimming: Lightly trim back after each flush of flowers to maintain a compact, tidy shape and encourage continuous flowering. Pinch back any leggy growth to promote bushiness.

Deadheading: Regular deadheading of spent flowers helps extend the flowering period and keeps the plant looking fresh.

Fertilising: Feed every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. In containers, apply a slow-release fertiliser in early spring and top up with liquid feed as needed.

Watering: Water regularly to keep soil evenly moist, especially during warm or dry periods. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

Pest Control: Generally pest-free. Watch for aphids or whiteflies on new growth - treat with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil if necessary.

Disease Management: Ensure good air circulation and avoid overhead watering to reduce the risk of fungal issues such as powdery mildew. Remove any yellowing or diseased foliage promptly to maintain plant health.
