The vibrant flowerss are held above fine, green foliage, creating a soft, mounding shape that adds colour and texture to garden beds, baskets, and containers.
Ideal for cottage, contemporary, or coastal gardens, Diascia Breezee Red is perfect for borders, edging, hanging baskets, or patio pots. It thrives in full sun to partial shade with free-draining soil and benefits from regular deadheading to encourage continuous flowering. Space approximately 20-30 cm apart to allow for healthy growth.
Forms a tidy, mounding plant approximately 25 cm high and 30 cm wide.
Trimming: Trim back lightly after each flowering flush to maintain a compact shape and encourage repeat blooming. Regular pinching of leggy stems helps promote bushier growth.
Deadheading: Deadhead spent flowers regularly to prolong flowering and keep the plant looking tidy.
Fertilising: Feed every 3-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. In containers, use a slow-release fertiliser in early spring for sustained feeding.
Watering: Water consistently, keeping the soil evenly moist - especially during warm or dry periods. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, particularly in containers or hanging baskets.
Pest Control: Generally pest-resistant, but monitor for aphids and whiteflies. Treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil.
Disease Management: Avoid overhead watering and ensure good airflow around the plant to minimise the risk of powdery mildew or other fungal issues. Remove any affected foliage promptly to keep the plant healthy.
