Calibrachoa Superbells Yellow
Notify MeCalibrachoa Superbells Yellow is a low-growing, trailing annual that produces masses of bright yellow, petunia-like flowers from spring through to late autumn. Its vivid colour and compact habit make it ideal for hanging baskets, containers, and sunny borders.
Plant in full sun with free-draining soil. Water regularly and feed fortnightly during the growing season to encourage continuous flowering. No deadheading is needed. Space plants 30 to 40 centimetres apart for trailing or groundcover use.
Grows to around 20 centimetres tall and spreads or trails up to 60 centimetres wide.
Trimming: Lightly trim back stems if the plant becomes leggy to encourage a fuller, more compact shape. A general tidy-up mid-season can help maintain vigour and prolong flowering.
Deadheading: Not required, as this variety is self-cleaning. Removing occasional spent flowers can help keep the plant looking neat.
Fertilising: Apply a slow-release fertiliser at planting. Supplement with a high-potassium liquid feed every one to two weeks throughout the flowering season to support strong, continuous flowering.
Watering: Water regularly during establishment and in dry periods. Keep the soil evenly moist but well drained. Avoid overwatering or letting the soil dry out completely.
Pest Control: Monitor for common pests such as aphids, thrips, and whiteflies. Treat with insecticidal soap or neem oil if infestations appear.
Disease Management: Ensure good airflow and avoid overhead watering to reduce the risk of fungal diseases. Use free-draining soil and remove any yellowing or damaged leaves promptly to maintain plant health.
