Flowering from late Spring through to Autumn, it offers a bright, clean look ideal for lighting up shaded areas in the garden or patio.
Perfect for cottage, tropical, or contemporary garden styles, Begonia Double Up White is ideal for containers, hanging baskets, underplanting, or shaded borders. It thrives in partial to full shade with moist, free-draining soil and benefits from regular feeding and deadheading. Protect from frost and strong afternoon sun. Space approximately 25-30 cm apart for best coverage.
Forms a tidy, mounded plant approximately 25-30 cm high and wide.
Trimming: Pinch back long or leggy stems to maintain a bushy, compact shape. Remove any yellowing, damaged, or dead leaves to keep the plant tidy and promote healthy growth.
Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flowers to encourage continuous flowering and enhance the plant’s appearance.
Fertilising: Feed every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. In pots, a slow-release fertiliser applied in spring can provide consistent nutrients over time.
Watering: Water when the top layer of soil feels dry. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot, especially in container-grown plants.
Pest Control: Monitor for aphids, whiteflies, and mealybugs-treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil if necessary.
Disease Management: Ensure adequate air circulation to prevent powdery mildew and botrytis. Avoid overhead watering and promptly remove any mouldy or diseased foliage. Use sterile tools when pruning or trimming.
