Plant in full sun to partial shade in well-draining, moderately moist soil. Allow 30-40 cm between plants for healthy clump formation and airflow. Mulching annually helps retain soil moisture and offers root protection through cooler months.
Trimming: Remove spent stems by pulling or cutting them at the base to encourage fresh flowering shoots. Cut back foliage to just above ground level in late autumn or winter once it has died back naturally.
Deadheading: Regularly deadhead faded flowers to extend the flowering season and prevent energy going into seed production.
Fertilising: Feed every 2-3 weeks during the growing season with a high-potassium liquid fertiliser to promote continuous flowering and strong growth.

Pest Control: Monitor for slugs and snails, which may target new growth. Use organic or physical barriers where necessary.
Disease Management: Botrytis (grey mould) can be an issue in damp conditions. Watch for fuzzy grey patches on leaves or stems. Remove affected parts promptly and improve air circulation. Avoid overhead watering to reduce the risk.
