Podocarpus hallii, also known as Hall's Totara, Podocarpus laetus and Podocarpus cunninghamii, is a New Zealand native evergreen that brings both grandeur and versatility to your garden.
With its tall, pyramidal shape and dense, dark-green foliage, Hall's Totara is an excellent choice for creating hedges, natural screens and windbreaks. It has a similar growth habit to the Podocarpus totara but Hall's Totara has a smaller needle making it suitable for hedging.
Its adaptability to a range of soil types and conditions, including poor, sandy soils and coastal environments, makes it a gardener's dream. The tree also produces small, inconspicuous flowers followed by attractive red fruits that birds are attracted to the nectar over the spring and summer months.
