Coprosma repens

Coprosma repens, commonly known as mirror bush or taupata, is a sturdy evergreen shrub native to New Zealand, known for its glossy, leathery leaves that reflect light, giving the plant a shiny appearance. It produces small, inconspicuous flowers followed by colourful, orange-red berries that attract birds.

Coprosma repens is versatile and can be used for hedges, screens, or coastal revegetation plantings. Its dense growth habit and glossy foliage make it an excellent choice for creating visual interest and providing year-round structure and colour. It is particularly well-suited for coastal gardens due to its salt spray and wind resistance.

Mirror bush thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. For hedging or screening purposes, plants should be spaced approximately 1m apart to allow for dense, cohesive growth.
