Miscanthus Gracillimus
Miscanthus sinensis Gracillimus is a splendid ornamental grass that will bring a year-round interest to your garden. Emerging fresh shoots in spring transform into elegant, wind-swaying foliage, creating a dynamic landscape. By late summer, towering flower plumes flushed with pale purple rise above the foliage, eventually turning silver and adding a soft, fluffy texture. As autumn arrives, the foliage takes on bronze tones, fading to straw colour in winter. Despite the seasonal changes, the plant maintains its architectural form, looking particularly stunning when frosted or lightly dusted with snow.
This robust grass grows into a dense, fountain-like clump, reaching heights of 1.5-1.8m and widths up to 1.2m. It thrives in sunny locations with fertile, moist, free-draining soils.
