Lomandra Blue Flame

Lomandra Blue Flame is a striking, blue-toned form of this hardy, grass-like perennial, known for its gracefully arching foliage and tidy, clumping habit. The fine-textured, steel-blue leaves provide year-round colour and movement, adding contrast and softness to planting schemes.

Ideal for borders, mass planting, or as a foliage accent in modern, coastal, or low-maintenance gardens, it performs best in full sun with well-drained soil. Tolerant of drought and light frost once established. Typically grows to around 50 to 60 cm in height and width, forming an elegant, flowing clump with lasting garden appeal.

Trimming: Trim back foliage in late winter or early spring to refresh growth and maintain a neat clump. Remove any damaged or tired leaves as needed throughout the year.

Fertilising: Apply a low-phosphorus slow-release fertiliser in spring to support healthy growth and colour.

Watering: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, it is drought-tolerant but benefits from occasional deep watering during extended dry periods.

Pest Control: Generally pest-free and low-maintenance.

Disease Management: Ensure well-drained soil to prevent root or crown rot in wet conditions. Avoid overwatering, especially in winter.
