Fuchsia procumbens variegata

The Fuchsia procumbens variegata is a distinct cultivar of the native New Zealand Fuchsia, renowned for its striking variegated foliage and unique trailing growth habit. This low-growing perennial has green leaves marbled creamy-white to pale yellow, offering a luminous contrast to garden spaces.

Unlike the typical pendulous flowers associated with Fuchsias, this variety boasts small, upright, tubular flowers. These blossoms transition from green to yellow with vibrant blue pollen, culminating in red fruit, making it a visual spectacle throughout its blooming period.

Adaptable and resilient, Fuchsia procumbens variegata is tolerant of a range of conditions but thrives in a warm shaded or sheltered spot and planted in well-draining soil.  Water well in summer and trim after flowering for shape and vigor.

Its trailing nature makes it an excellent choice for hanging baskets, containers, or as ground cover in garden beds. Beyond its ornamental appeal, this Fuchsia is a magnet for pollinators, inviting a flurry of activity and supporting local biodiversity.

Has a spreading habit and will grow approx. 15cm high by 100cm wide.
