Podocarpus macrophyllus - Field-Grown

Podocarpus macrophyllus, commonly known as the Yew Pine or Buddhist Pine is an elegant evergreen conifer admired for its dark green, needle-like leaves. Its upright, columnar form adds a distinguished architectural element.

It thrives in a well-drained soil and favours full sun to partial shade. Once established, it is quite drought tolerant.

Podocarpus macrophyllus makes a striking specimen tree. Its dense growth is also ideal for creating tall screens or hedges, adding privacy without compromising on visual appeal.

It can reach an impressive height of 10-12 metres at maturity, depending on the growing conditions. It can be easily pruned to maintain a smaller size and a neat, columnar shape, fitting your garden's requirements.

Field-grown plants are grown directly in open fields, enabling their roots to spread and develop naturally, resulting in larger size, established root systems, and increased resilience. When transporting these plants, hessian, a coarse fabric made from natural fibres like jute, is commonly used to wrap their roots, providing protection during transportation and handling.
