Fraxinus excelsior - Field-Grown

The European Ash, or Fraxinus excelsior, is a truly majestic specimen, capable of achieving great dimensions when given adequate time and conditions to mature. Typically, the tree can reach an impressive height of up to 30 metres. As for its spread, it can extend to approximately 5 metres wide. These dimensions make it a substantial and commanding presence in any landscape, whether rural or urban.

Field-grown plants are grown directly in open fields, enabling their roots to spread and develop naturally, resulting in larger size, established root systems, and increased resilience. When transporting these plants, hessian, a coarse fabric made from natural fibres like jute, is commonly used to wrap their roots, providing protection during transportation and handling.
