Armeria corsica

Armeria corsica is a miniature, mat-forming perennial perfect for tight spaces, with soft pink, button-like flowers held above fine, grassy foliage. Flowering from early to mid-spring, it adds delicate charm to rock gardens, alpine plantings, and crevice gardens. Naturally suited to coastal and alpine styles, it thrives in full sun and sharply drained soil. Space plants 15–20cm apart to allow for a low, spreading habit.

Mature Size: Grows to approximately 10cm high and 15–20cm wide.

Trimming: Trim back spent flower stems to encourage repeat flowering and maintain a tidy appearance. In late autumn or early spring, remove any dead or damaged foliage to keep the clump neat.

Deadheading: Regularly remove faded flower heads to prolong the flowering season and support a tidy, compact form.

Fertilising: Armeria prefers lean soils, so fertilising is usually unnecessary. If growth appears weak, apply a light dose of low-nitrogen fertiliser in early spring.

Watering: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, Armeria is drought-tolerant and prefers well-drained soil. Avoid overwatering, especially in winter.

Pest Control: Generally pest-free, though occasional aphids may appear. Treat with insecticidal soap if needed.

Disease Management: Can be susceptible to crown rot in poorly drained soils. Ensure excellent drainage and avoid waterlogged conditions. Remove any rotting foliage promptly to prevent spread.
