Phormium Emerald Gem is a compact, tidy New Zealand flax with vibrant green, sword-like leaves that form a neat, arching clump. Smaller than many other Phormium varieties, it offers strong visual structure without overwhelming nearby plants. Its fresh foliage remains attractive year-round, adding bold texture and colour to garden compositions.
Perfect for edging, mass planting, containers, or mixed borders. Suits coastal, contemporary, native, and low-maintenance garden styles.
Performs best in full sun to light shade and thrives in well-drained soils. Drought-tolerant once established but benefits from occasional watering in extended dry periods. Space plants about 60 cm apart to maintain shape and airflow.
Reaches approximately 60 cm tall and 60–80 cm wide, forming a dense, architectural mound.

Muehlenbeckia axillaris, also known as Creeping Wire Vine or Mattress Vine, is a hardy and versatile evergreen plant that is native to New Zealand. This plant features wiry, interlacing stems that form a dense mat and in summer produces tiny, inconspicuous flowers that are followed by small, black berries. Muehlenbeckia axillaris typically grows to a height of around 10-15cm and has a spread of up to 1.5m, making it an excellent choice for groundcover, rock gardens, and hanging baskets. This plant is hardy and easy to grow, thriving in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.

Chionochloa flavicans is an adaptable, robust plant that thrives in conditions ranging from full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Naturally found on cliffs and rock faces, it handles drought and windy coastal areas extremely well. It is a versatile plant and can be used as a groundcover when planted en masse, as a border to a garden bed or water feature or as a textured addition to mixed garden beds. It grows to 1m tall making it ideal for small or narrow gardens.
