Cornus kousa Chinensis

Cornus kousa Chinensis is a small, deciduous tree commonly known as the Chinese dogwood. It's highly prized for its stunning, layered branches and showy display of star-shaped flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. The blooms are initially creamy-white, but gradually change to a deep, blush pink. In autumn, it produces a brilliant show of reddish-purple foliage and edible, strawberry-like fruits. It's a versatile tree, able to grow in both full sun or part shade, and while it prefers well-drained, fertile soil, it can tolerate a range of soil types. The Chinese dogwood is relatively slow-growing, but can eventually reach a height and spread of about 5-10 metres.
