Notify MeAlnus incana Aurea, commonly known as Golden Alder, is a striking deciduous tree distinguished by its golden-yellow young foliage and orange-hued bark, which brighten the landscape year-round. In late winter to early spring, it produces slender yellow catkins, adding seasonal interest before the leaves emerge. This fast-growing tree is ideal for damp or marginal soils and improves soil fertility through nitrogen fixation.
Perfect for wetland gardens, riparian areas, or as a vibrant specimen tree in larger gardens. Thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-draining to waterlogged soils. It tolerates harsh conditions, making it an excellent choice for challenging sites.
Reaches a mature height of 10–15 m with a canopy spread of 6–8 m, creating a luminous focal point in the landscape.

Pest Control: Check for aphids on young growth. Use insecticidal soap or introduce natural predators like ladybirds to manage infestations if necessary.
Disease Management: Generally resistant to diseases but may suffer from root rot in compacted or poorly drained soils. Improve drainage and promptly remove any affected trees or branches.
