Hydrangea Lollipop is a compact, deciduous hydrangea that produces large rounded flower heads in soft pink tones through summer into early Autumn. Its dense, leafy growth and smaller size make it an excellent choice for patio pots, low borders, or the front of mixed beds where you want reliable flowering without the bulk of larger varieties.
Perfect for cottage, woodland, or contemporary garden styles, Lollipop grows best in morning sun or part shade with shelter from hot afternoon sun. Plant in moist, free-draining soil enriched with organic matter, and keep the soil evenly moist during summer for the best flower display. Space plants 80 cm to 1 m apart for a tidy, full look.
Mature size: Reaches around 80-100 cm in height and 80-100 cm in width, forming a compact, rounded shrub.
Trimming: Prune lightly in late winter or early spring to remove any dead or weak stems and to maintain a compact, rounded shape. Avoid hard pruning, as this variety typically flowers on old wood.
Deadheading: Remove spent flower heads just above a pair of healthy buds to keep the plant tidy and support new growth.
