Gardenia Grif's Select

Gardenia Grif's Select, also commonly referred to as Cape Jasmine, is a beloved evergreen shrub known for its large, exquisitely fragrant, pure white flowers and lustrous, dark green foliage. This cultivar is noted for its compact form, making it a perfect choice for a variety of garden settings.

Can be used as a specimen plant, mixed borders, or hedges. Its compact and bushy growth habit also makes it ideal for container planting, where its scent can be enjoyed up close on patios and balconies. It can also be be grown indoors in a brightly light spot. Its classic gardenia scent fills the air from late spring through summer, creating a captivating and sensory garden experience. This gardenia thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers rich, well-drained, acidic soil. It appreciates a sheltered location to protect it from strong winds and frost, which can damage the delicate flowers. Prune after flowering to maintain the plant's shape and remove faded or brown flowers as they appear.

Space the plants about 1m apart to allow for their mature size and to promote good air circulation. Regular watering and feeding with an acidic fertiliser will help maintain the plant's health and encourage prolific flowering.
