Azalea Pink Ice

Azalea Pink Ice is a stunning evergreen shrub that features semi-double flowers in a captivating silvery white with a hint of mauve. Renowned for its outstanding flowering, this plant adds a touch of elegance and charm to any garden setting.

Azalea Pink Ice is perfect for gardens that require a splash of subtle yet striking colour. Its beautiful flowers make it an excellent choice for borders, woodland gardens, and shaded garden areas. The plant thrives best in part shade, ensuring it receives dappled sunlight throughout the day. It prefers moist, well-drained soil, making it ideal for gardens with good irrigation and drainage systems.

This Azalea is versatile and can enhance various garden styles, including cottage gardens, Japanese-themed landscapes, and modern minimalist gardens. When planning your garden layout, space each plant about 60 cm apart to allow for proper growth and air circulation.

At maturity, Azalea Pink Ice reaches a height and spread of approximately 60 cm, forming a compact and bushy habit. Its evergreen nature ensures it provides year-round interest, with its delightful flowers adding a seasonal highlight during its blooming period.

Trimming: Trim lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushy growth. Remove any dead or damaged branches throughout the year.

Deadheading: Remove spent flowers immediately after flowering to promote additional blooms and maintain a tidy appearance.

Fertilising: Apply a specialised azalea or rhododendron fertiliser in early spring and after flowering. Avoid fertilising in late summer or autumn to prevent new growth that can be damaged by frost.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the establishment phase and in dry periods. Azaleas prefer acidic, well-drained soil. Mulch to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Pest Control: Watch for lace bugs and azalea caterpillars. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil.

Disease Management: Be vigilant for signs of root rot, petal blight, and powdery mildew. Ensure good air circulation, avoid overhead watering, and apply appropriate fungicides if necessary. Remove and dispose of any infected plant material responsibly.
