Rose Scentasia
Rosa 'Scentasia' is a compact Patio rose celebrated for its yellow flowers and strong, sweet fragrance. The medium-sized, fully double flowers are produced in clusters from late spring through to autumn, standing out brilliantly against healthy, glossy green foliage. This variety offers excellent repeat flowering and disease resistance, making it a reliable performer in the garden.
Perfect for borders, rose beds, or container displays. Complements contemporary, formal, and cottage garden styles.
Thrives in full sun with well-drained, fertile soil. Plant in a sheltered position and space approximately 60–75 cm apart for optimal growth and airflow.
Mature size: Grows to about 90 cm tall and 60 cm wide, forming a neat, bushy shrub.
Trimming: Prune in late winter or early spring to shape the plant and remove dead or weak stems. As a compact floribunda, reduce flowering stems by one-third to encourage bushy, vigorous growth.
Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flowers throughout the flowering season to encourage continuous flowering and maintain a neat appearance.
Fertilising: Apply a balanced rose fertiliser in early spring, followed by a second feed after the first flush. Avoid feeding late in the season to prevent soft growth vulnerable to frost.
Watering: Water deeply during dry spells, especially while establishing. Maintain moist, well-drained soil and avoid overhead watering to reduce disease risk.
Pest Control: Watch for aphids, thrips, and mites. Treat early signs of infestation with insecticidal soap or neem oil, and encourage natural predators.
Disease Management: Generally healthy, but may be affected by black spot or mildew in humid conditions. Prune to allow good airflow, remove affected leaves promptly, and apply a fungicide preventatively if necessary.
