Nemesia Innocence Plum
Notify MeNemesia Innocence Plum is a compact, evergreen perennial featuring soft plum-toned flowers with creamy yellow centres, creating a delicate and refined display from early Spring through to late Autumn. Lightly fragrant and free-flowering, it brings continuous seasonal colour and charm to small garden spaces and containers.
Ideal for cottage, contemporary, or coastal gardens, Nemesia Innocence Plum is perfect for borders, edging, patio pots, or hanging baskets. It thrives in full sun to partial shade with free-draining soil and benefits from regular deadheading to extend flowering. Space approximately 20-25 cm apart to ensure a full, tidy display.
Forms a compact, mounding plant approximately 25 cm high and 30 cm wide.
Trimming: Lightly trim after each major flush of flowers to encourage compact growth and prolong flowering. Pinch back leggy stems throughout the season to maintain a tidy, bushy shape.
Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flowers to enhance appearance and encourage continuous flowering.
Fertilising: Feed every 3-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. In containers, use a slow-release fertiliser in early spring and supplement as needed.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but well-drained. Water more frequently during hot or dry periods, particularly in containers, as Innocence Plum can be sensitive to drying out.
Pest Control: Typically pest-free, but monitor for aphids or whiteflies on new growth - treat with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil if required.
Disease Management: Avoid overhead watering and ensure good airflow to minimise the risk of powdery mildew or fungal leaf spot. Remove any yellowing or diseased foliage promptly.
