Leucanthemum Whoops A Daisy

Leucanthemum Whoops-a-Daisy is a compact, clump-forming perennial that produces masses of classic white, daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centres from early Summer through to early Autumn. Its tidy, mounded habit and long flowering period make it a reliable choice for adding cheerful, seasonal colour to garden beds and containers.

Ideal for cottage, coastal, or contemporary gardens, Leucanthemum Whoops-a-Daisy is perfect for borders, edging, mass planting, or patio pots. It thrives in full sun with free-draining soil and benefits from deadheading to prolong flowering. Space approximately 30-40 cm apart to allow for healthy growth.

Forms a neat, rounded plant approximately 25-30 cm high and 35-40 cm wide.

Trimming: Trim back spent flower stems after the main flowering flush to encourage a tidy appearance and possibly a light rebloom. Cut the plant back to the base in late autumn or early spring to refresh growth for the new season.

Deadheading: Regularly remove faded flowers to prolong flowering and maintain a neat look.

Fertilising: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in early spring. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers, which can lead to weak, floppy growth with fewer flowers.

Watering: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, Whoops-a-Daisy prefers evenly moist, well-drained soil. Water during extended dry periods, especially in warmer months.

Pest Control: Watch for aphids and leaf miners. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil. Slugs may also target young foliage in damp conditions.

Disease Management: Prone to fungal issues like powdery mildew or leaf spot in humid or overcrowded conditions. Ensure good air circulation, avoid overhead watering, and remove affected foliage promptly. Plant in well-drained soil to prevent crown rot.
