Lavender Silver Princess

Lavender Silver Princess is a compact, evergreen shrub with silvery-grey foliage and masses of soft lavender-purple flowers that appear from late Spring through to early Autumn. The aromatic leaves and prolonged flowering season make it a standout feature in sunny garden spaces, attracting bees and other pollinators throughout the warmer months.

Perfect for coastal, cottage, Mediterranean, or formal gardens, Lavender Silver Princess works well in borders, low hedging, or container planting. It thrives in full sun with free-draining soil and is tolerant of dry conditions once established. Space approximately 50-60 cm apart when planting to allow for healthy air circulation and natural shape.

Forms a compact, rounded shrub approximately 60 cm high and 60 cm wide.

Trimming: Lightly trim after each flowering flush to maintain a compact, bushy shape. In late summer or early autumn, give a harder trim-cut back by about one-third, avoiding cutting into old wood, as it may not reshoot.

Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flower spikes to encourage further flowering and keep the plant tidy.

Fertilising: Apply a low-phosphorus, general-purpose fertiliser in early spring. Avoid rich feeding, which can lead to leggy growth and reduced flowering.

Watering: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, lavender is drought tolerant-only water during extended dry periods. Avoid overwatering, especially in heavy soils.

Pest Control: Generally pest-free. Occasionally may attract aphids-these can be removed by hand or treated with insecticidal soap if necessary.

Disease Management: Susceptible to root rot in poorly drained soils. Ensure excellent drainage and avoid waterlogging. Provide good air circulation to reduce the risk of fungal diseases such as leaf spot or botrytis.
