Lavender Baby Pink Princess

Lavender Baby Pink Princess is a compact, evergreen shrub featuring soft, baby pink flower heads held above aromatic grey-green foliage. Flowering from late spring through to early autumn, this variety adds gentle colour and fragrance to garden beds, borders, and patio containers. With a naturally tidy habit reaching around 40-60 cm high and wide, it’s ideal for cottage, Mediterranean, and coastal garden styles.

Plant in full sun with free-draining soil. Drought-tolerant once established and well-suited to hot, dry locations. Space plants 30-40 cm apart for even coverage. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage further flowering. Avoid heavy soils or areas prone to winter wet.

Trimming: Lightly trim after the first flush of flowers to encourage a second flowering and maintain a neat, compact shape. In late summer or early autumn, give a harder prune-cut back by about one-third, avoiding cutting into old, woody stems.

Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flower spikes to promote ongoing flowering and keep the plant tidy.

Fertilising: Lavender thrives in low-nutrient soils, so fertilising is generally not necessary. In poor soils, apply a light dose of low-nitrogen fertiliser in early spring.

Watering: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, lavender is highly drought-tolerant and prefers dry conditions-avoid overwatering and ensure excellent drainage.

Pest Control: Generally pest-free, though aphids may occasionally appear. Treat with insecticidal soap if needed.

Disease Management: Watch for root rot in poorly drained soils. Ensure good drainage and avoid watering at the base of the plant. Maintain airflow around the plant to prevent fungal issues such as leaf spot or mildew. Remove any affected foliage promptly.
