Helleborus Tutu White

Helleborus Tutu White is a compact, evergreen perennial that produces elegant, semi-double white flowers with delicately ruffled petals from late Winter through to mid-Spring. The blooms are held above attractive marbled foliage, adding texture and brightness to shaded garden areas during the cooler months.

Perfect for woodland, cottage, or contemporary garden styles, Helleborus Tutu White is ideal for shaded borders, underplanting, or container planting. It prefers partial to full shade with moist, free-draining soil enriched with organic matter. Space approximately 40-50 cm apart to support healthy growth and airflow.

Forms a compact, clump-forming plant approximately 45 cm high and 60 cm wide.

Trimming: Remove old, damaged, or leathery foliage in late winter or early spring before new growth and flowers emerge. This keeps the plant tidy and helps reduce disease risk.

Deadheading: Snip off spent flowers once they begin to fade to maintain a clean appearance and prevent unwanted self-seeding.

Fertilising: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in early spring. A second light feed in late summer supports root development and flower production for the next season.

Watering: Water regularly during the establishment period. Once established, Tutu White is moderately drought tolerant but benefits from deep watering during long dry spells.

Pest Control: Watch for aphids on new growth-treat with insecticidal soap if needed. Slugs and snails may also target young leaves, especially in damp or shaded areas.

Disease Management: Prone to Hellebore leaf spot in humid conditions. Remove affected leaves promptly and dispose of them. Avoid overhead watering and ensure good air circulation to minimise fungal issues. Clean up old foliage annually to support overall plant health.
