Gaura Soda Pop. Gauras are a true winner for any sunny garden or pot. Once established they are very drought tolerant and keep giving from late spring right through to autumn with an abundance of white flowers. An easy-care plant, that requires a trim at the end of flowering and will keep creating a magnificent display year after year. A real favourite in a new garden as they are so quick to establish. 40cm x 30cm.
Trimming: Trim back in late winter or early spring to remove old growth and encourage new shoots. Lightly prune throughout the growing season to maintain a neat appearance and promote continuous flowering.
Deadheading: Regularly deadhead spent flowers to encourage more flowers and extend the flowering season.
Fertilising: Apply a balanced fertiliser in early spring to support healthy growth and flowering. Avoid over-fertilising, as excessive nutrients can lead to lush foliage at the expense of flowers.
Watering: Water regularly during the establishment phase. Once established, Gaura Soda Pop is drought-tolerant but benefits from occasional deep watering during prolonged dry periods. Ensure well-drained soil to prevent root rot.
Pest Control: Generally pest-free, but occasionally aphids or spider mites can be an issue. Use insecticidal soap or neem oil to treat infestations.
Disease Management: Gaura Soda Pop is relatively disease-resistant. However, ensure good air circulation and avoid overhead watering to prevent fungal diseases such as powdery mildew. If any signs of disease appear, remove affected parts and treat with a suitable fungicide.
