Gaura Ballerina Blush. An open, airy habit, although compact and well branched, with delicate, blush-pink, orchid-like flowers atop dark foliage. Matures to a height of 40cms. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Trimming: Trim back stems by half in early spring to encourage bushier growth and more prolific flowering. After the main flowering period, cut back spent flower stems to encourage a second flush of blooms.
Deadheading: Regularly deadhead spent flowers to prolong the flowering season and keep the plant looking tidy.
Fertilising: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in early spring. Avoid over-fertilising, as this can lead to excessive leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
Watering: Water regularly during the establishment phase. Once established, Gaura Ballerina Blush is drought-tolerant but benefits from occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells.
Pest Control: Generally pest-free, but keep an eye out for aphids and spider mites. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil if they occur.
Disease Management: Watch for signs of powdery mildew and root rot. Powdery mildew appears as a white, powdery coating on leaves and can be treated with fungicides. Ensure the soil is well-draining to prevent root rot, and avoid overhead watering to minimise fungal issues. Ensure good air circulation around the plant to reduce the risk of disease.
