Fuchsia Shadow Dancer (Assorted)

Fuchsia Shadow Dancer is a compact, upright, evergreen fuchsia series known for its abundance of small, elegant, two-toned flowers that appear from late Spring through to Autumn. With vibrant colour combinations typically featuring deep pink, red, purple, or white tones, this variety adds a long season of interest and is especially attractive to bees and other pollinators.

Ideal for cottage, tropical, or shaded garden styles, Fuchsia Shadow Dancer is perfect for borders, containers, hanging baskets, or underplanting. It thrives in partial to full shade with moist, free-draining soil and benefits from regular deadheading to encourage continuous flowering. Protect from frost and strong afternoon sun. Space approximately 30-40 cm apart when planting in groups.

Forms a compact, bushy plant approximately 30-40 cm high and wide.

Trimming: Pinch out the growing tips in early growth stages to encourage a bushier shape. Lightly prune after each flowering cycle to maintain form. In late winter or early spring, cut back harder to encourage vigorous new growth.

Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flowers to promote continuous flowering and prevent seed formation, which can reduce bloom production.

Fertilising: Feed every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. In containers, apply a slow-release fertiliser in early spring for consistent support.

Watering: Water regularly, especially during hot or dry periods. Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged - ensure good drainage in both garden beds and containers.

Pest Control: Watch for whiteflies, aphids, and spider mites. Check leaf undersides regularly and treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil.

Disease Management: Prone to fungal diseases like rust and botrytis in humid conditions. Provide good air circulation, avoid overhead watering, and remove any affected leaves or flowers promptly. Clean tools regularly to prevent disease spread.
