Dreameria Hypnotic Dreams is a compact, evergreen perennial featuring masses of claret red flowers held above neat mounds of green foliage. Flowering from early Spring through to late Autumn, it provides vibrant, long-lasting colour and structure to borders, containers, or rockeries.
Ideal for coastal, cottage, or contemporary gardens, Dreameria Hypnotic Dreams also attracts pollinators and suits mass planting or edging. It prefers a sunny position with free-draining soil and copes well with drier conditions once established. Space approximately 25–30 cm apart to allow for healthy growth and airflow.
Forms a low, rounded clump approximately 30 cm high and 30 cm wide.
Trimming: Lightly trim spent flower stems to encourage further flowering and maintain a tidy shape. Remove any damaged or untidy foliage as needed.
Deadheading: Regularly deadhead faded flowers to prolong the flowering period and keep the plant looking fresh.
Fertilising: Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in early spring to support healthy growth and flowering.
Watering: Water regularly during the establishment phase and during extended dry periods, particularly in summer. Once established, Dreameria is relatively drought tolerant.
Pest Control: Generally pest-free, but monitor for aphids on new growth. These can be managed with a gentle insecticidal soap if needed.
Disease Management: Rarely affected by disease. Ensure good air circulation around the plant to prevent fungal issues. Avoid overhead watering to minimise the risk of leaf spot or rot.
