Brachyscome Brasco Purple

Brachyscome brasco Purple is a compact, evergreen perennial known for its fine, feathery foliage and a mass of vibrant purple daisy-like flowers with sunny yellow centres. Flowering from early Spring through to Autumn, it brings long-lasting colour and soft texture to garden spaces with minimal care.

Perfect for borders, containers, rockeries, or hanging baskets, it complements cottage, contemporary, and pollinator-friendly garden styles.

Plant in full sun to light shade in free-draining soil. Keep soil moderately moist and trim lightly to encourage repeat flowering. Space plants 30–40cm apart for full, even coverage.

Mature size: Low and spreading, typically growing to 20–30cm tall and 40–50cm wide.

Trimming: Lightly trim after flowering to maintain a compact, bushy shape and encourage continuous blooming. Regular pinching or light pruning helps prevent legginess. A harder cut-back in early spring can refresh older or sprawling plants.

Deadheading: Remove spent flower heads regularly to extend the flowering period and keep the plant looking neat.

Fertilising: Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser. In containers or nutrient-poor soils, supplement with a diluted liquid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during peak flowering. Avoid overfeeding, which can lead to excessive leafy growth.

Watering: Water regularly during establishment and in dry spells. Brasco Purple prefers moist, well-drained soil—avoid waterlogging. Mulch lightly to retain soil moisture, especially in hot or windy areas.

Pest Control: Typically pest-free, but watch for aphids or mites on new growth. Treat early with insecticidal soap if necessary.

Disease Management: Good drainage and airflow are key to preventing fungal issues. Avoid overhead watering, and remove any diseased foliage promptly. Light pruning improves ventilation and helps keep plants healthy.
