Bidens Goldilocks Rocks
Notify MeBidens Goldilocks Rocks is a compact, sun-loving perennial known for its masses of bright golden-yellow flowers that appear from late Spring through to Autumn. The daisy-like flowers sit above finely textured green foliage, creating a cheerful, trailing display ideal for adding long-lasting colour to garden beds and containers.
Perfect for cottage, coastal, or contemporary gardens, Bidens Goldilocks Rocks is ideal for hanging baskets, pots, edging, or groundcover. It thrives in full sun with free-draining soil and is tolerant of heat, wind, and light drought once established. Space approximately 30-40 cm apart to allow for natural spreading.
Forms a low, trailing plant approximately 25-30 cm high and spreading up to 50 cm wide.
Trimming: Lightly trim or pinch back stems in mid to late summer to encourage bushier growth and extend the flowering period. Remove any straggly or damaged stems as needed.
Deadheading: Not strictly necessary, as this variety is self-cleaning, but removing spent flowers can help maintain a tidy appearance and encourage even more flowers.
Fertilising: Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 3-4 weeks during the growing season. In containers, use a slow-release fertiliser in spring for sustained performance.
Watering: Water regularly during establishment and throughout hot or dry periods. While moderately drought tolerant once established, consistent moisture encourages the best flowering. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.
Pest Control: Generally pest-free. Occasionally, aphids or whiteflies may appear-treat with insecticidal soap if needed.
Disease Management: Rarely affected by disease. Avoid overhead watering to reduce the risk of mildew or fungal issues, and ensure good airflow around the plant. Remove any diseased or yellowing foliage promptly.
