Argyranthemum Dark Pink
Notify MeArgyranthemum Dark Pink is a floriferous, compact marguerite daisy producing masses of vivid dark pink flowers with cheerful yellow centres. Flowering steadily from spring through to autumn, the bold blooms are held above finely cut green foliage, offering vibrant colour and a tidy, mounding form that suits a range of garden settings.
An excellent choice for borders, patio pots, and mass planting. Complements cottage, Mediterranean, and contemporary garden styles.
Thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Regular deadheading encourages continuous flowering and keeps plants looking fresh. Space 30–40 cm apart for a lush, even display.
Mature size: Grows to 30–40 cm tall with a rounded spread of 40–50 cm.
Trimming: Lightly trim after each flowering flush to maintain a compact, bushy shape and promote continuous blooming. In late winter or early spring, prune back more firmly to rejuvenate the plant.
Deadheading: Regularly remove spent blooms to extend the flowering period and keep the plant looking tidy.
Fertilising: Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser. For ongoing flowering, apply a liquid feed every 2–4 weeks during the main blooming season.
Watering: Water regularly during dry spells. While Argyranthemum ‘Dark Pink’ is moderately drought-tolerant once established, consistent moisture encourages more prolific flowering. Ensure soil is well-drained to prevent root issues.
Pest Control: Watch for aphids and whitefly, especially on tender new growth. Use insecticidal soap or horticultural oil as needed.
Disease Management: Prone to powdery mildew in humid or overcrowded conditions. Improve airflow, avoid wetting foliage, and remove any affected leaves promptly. Use a fungicide if necessary.
