Notify MeAlstroemeria Inca Holland is a compact, free-flowering perennial featuring bright orange flowers with golden-yellow centres and soft burgundy markings. Flowering from late spring through to early autumn, it brings bold, warm tones to borders, pots, and cut flower arrangements. With a tidy growth habit reaching around 30-40 cm high and wide, it complements subtropical, contemporary, and cottage garden styles.
Plant in full sun to partial shade with well-draining, moderately moist soil. Space plants 30-40 cm apart to allow for healthy clump development and airflow. Apply mulch annually to conserve soil moisture and protect the roots in cooler months. Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous flowering.
Trimming: Pull or cut spent flowering stems at the base to encourage fresh growth and prolonged flowering. In late autumn or early winter, trim back any yellowing foliage to just above ground level.
Deadheading: Deadhead regularly to extend the flowering season and help the plant focus energy on new blooms rather than seed production.
Fertilising: Feed every 2-3 weeks during the growing season with a high-potassium liquid fertiliser (e.g., tomato feed) to promote continuous flowering and healthy growth.
Watering: Water deeply and consistently during establishment and through dry periods, especially in summer. Keep soil evenly moist but well-drained.
Pest Control: Slugs and snails may damage young shoots-apply organic deterrents or slug bait if needed.
Disease Management: Monitor for signs of botrytis (grey mould), especially in damp or humid conditions. Look for soft, grey patches on leaves or stems. Remove affected material immediately and ensure good air circulation. Avoid overhead watering to reduce fungal risk.
