Peony Kelway's Glorious

Peony Kelway's Glorious is a garden peony with opulent, fragrant, double-white flowers, each with a creamy yellow centre that adds a touch of warmth to its appearance. The dark green leaves serve as the perfect backdrop, accentuating the beauty of the flowers that rise above the foliage. This variety is particularly noted for its suitability in bridal bouquets, thanks to its elegant colour scheme and the luxurious feel of its flowers. Regarded by many enthusiasts as one of the finest peonies ever bred, Kelway's Glorious was introduced in 1909. Its flowers are predominantly white but are occasionally adorned with red streaking on the outer petals, adding a unique charm. It is one of the later flowering peonies but like other peonies, does need a significant cold period during winter. This herbaceous perennial thrives in any fertile, moist, well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade, and prefers a sheltered position. While it may take some time to establish, Kelway's Glorious eventually forms a dense, reliable plant that is easy to grow, given the right soil conditions, and becomes a cherished addition to any garden.
