Thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil with moderate moisture. For hedging, space 40–50 cm apart to allow for healthy, dense development.
Mature size: Typically reaches 2 metres high and around 1 metre wide if untrimmed, with a naturally upright, tidy form.
Trimming: Trim lightly in late spring to maintain its elegant, upright habit and to encourage dense, tidy growth. Suitable for hedging or structural planting, it may benefit from a second light trim in late summer. Avoid autumn pruning to minimise frost damage on new shoots.
