Deschampsia Daybreak

Deschampsia cespitosa Daybreak, commonly referred to as Tufted Hair Grass, stands out as a perennial ornamental grass celebrated for its elegant, long narrow arching green blades with yellow-pinkish margins. This particular cultivar of Tufted Hair Grass is distinguished by its shimmering golden seed heads that catch the light, creating a mesmerizing display, especially during dawn and dusk.

Growing in graceful clumps, Daybreak adds texture and movement to gardens, swaying gently with the breeze. As the seasons change, its foliage takes on a golden hue, adding further interest to autumnal landscapes. 

Grows best in moist, well-draining soils and can be positioned in full sun to partial shade but avoid very dry sites. Moist woodland would be its natural habitat. Will tolerate frosts.
