Carex Evergold

Carex oshimensis Evergold, commonly known as Evergold Sedge, is a stunning ornamental grass renowned for its striking variegated foliage. The slender, arching leaves feature a bright yellow stripe down the centre, bordered by dark green edges, creating a vibrant and elegant appearance. This compact, evergreen sedge is perfect for adding texture and colour to mixed borders, rock gardens, and containers.

Evergold Sedge thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, moist soil. It is adaptable to a variety of soil types, including sandy and loamy soils, and performs well in both garden beds and containers. This low-maintenance plant is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal care. Regular watering during the establishment phase is essential, and occasional trimming of old foliage helps maintain its tidy appearance. Space plants about 30-40 cm apart to allow for proper air circulation and growth.

At maturity, Carex Evergold reaches a height of approximately 30-40 cm and spreads to about 40-50 cm, forming a dense, clumping mound.
