Agapanthus Gayles Sapphire is a striking variety that produces rich, sapphire-blue flowers on sturdy stems during summer. Its deep, bold flower colour contrasts beautifully with its clumps of narrow, strap-like green foliage, making it an eye-catching feature in any garden. This variety is perfect for adding vibrant colour and height to borders, containers, or mixed garden beds.
Thriving in full sun and well-drained soils, Gayles Sapphire is ideal for modern, coastal, or cottage gardens. It is hardy, low maintenance, and moderately drought-tolerant once established. Space plants 30–40 cm apart to allow for a lush, natural spread.
Mature size: Grows up to 70–80 cm in height and 40–50 cm in width, forming an upright, clumping habit.
Trimming: Cut back foliage in late autumn or winter once it has died back naturally. Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves during the growing season to maintain a tidy appearance.
Deadheading: Remove spent flower stems after flowering to encourage further blooms and prevent self-seeding, especially if managing invasive tendencies.

Disease Management: Agapanthus are generally disease-resistant but may develop root rot in poorly draining soil. Ensure soil is well-draining and avoid overwatering.
