Olive J5

Olea europea J5 is a new olive cultivar developed in New Zealand for high productivity and disease resistance. It is a medium-sized tree that can reach heights of 6-8m and widths of 4-6m. The leaves are oblong and elongated, with a glossy green top and a silver underside. In the spring, the tree produces small, fragrant white flowers that develop into medium to large-sized fruit that is green when young and turns a dark purple-black when fully ripe. The fruit has a slightly sweet and buttery flavour and is prized for use in the production of high-quality olive oil, as well as being a popular choice for table olives.
