Olive Ascolano

Olea Ascolano is a medium-sized olive tree that typically grows to a height of 6-9m and a spread of 4-6m. It has narrow, oblong-shaped leaves that are glossy, dark green on top and silver-grey on the underside. The tree produces small, fragrant white flowers in the spring, which give way to large, oblong-shaped fruit that is green when young, maturing to a dark purple-black colour. The fruit has a mild buttery flavour and is highly prized for use as a table olive and for making olive oil. The Olea Ascolano tree is relatively easy to grow and maintain and can tolerate a wide range of soil types and conditions, preferring full sun and well-draining soil. Regular watering is necessary during the growing season, and pruning is typically required to maintain the tree's shape and size, as well as to promote optimal fruit production.
