This vibrant trio offers winter appeal, seasonal blooms, and a year-round structure. Be sure to allow at least a 2m wide strip for this combination ensuring the plants can reach their mature form. Along the front of the garden, plant the Lavender Super at 1m apart and keep maintained by annual trimming in late summer. Known for its strong aromatic fragrance, this lavender variety grows slightly larger than other varieties reaching approximately 80cm. Through the middle layer, plant the Cornus alba Sibirica at 1.5m apart. As the temperature drops, the Cornus will steal the show as its striking bare red stems are revealed. During spring, Cornus alba Sibirica produces clusters of small, white flowers that give way to glossy green leaves in summer. Keep maintained by giving it a hard annual prune in early spring. Lastly, for some evergreen strappy texture, we have Phormium Emerald Gem running along the back of this arrangement spaced at 1m apart. This native dwarf flax variety will remain fairly compact and provide a great green backdrop neatly contrasting the surrounding purple and red tones.
