Nandina Gulfstream - Field-Grown

Nandina Gulfstream is an evergreen shrub with vivid, multi-toned foliage and a compact growth habit. This variety of Nandina domestica, also known as Heavenly Bamboo, provides a beautiful display of blue-green leaves that change to blazing red and orange throughout the year. This field-grown grade is practically full grown so you will not have to wait long to see its impact in the garden. 

It is not picky about soil type, but it flourishes best in well-drained, loamy soil. It enjoys full sun to partial shade, with brighter light fostering more intense leaf colouration. Though resilient and drought-resistant once established, it benefits from regular irrigation during extended dry times.

his small shrub is ideal for giving colour and interest to the landscape all year. With its compact stature and eye-catching visual appeal, it works well as a stand-alone specimen plant. It also works well in mixed borders, container plants, and as a low hedge.

Upon reaching maturity, the Nandina Gulfstream generally stands at a manageable height of 60-90cm. Its relatively slow growth rate allows it to maintain its compact, neat form, requiring minimal pruning or maintenance over time.

Field-grown plants are grown directly in open fields, enabling their roots to spread and develop naturally, resulting in larger size, established root systems, and increased resilience. When transporting these plants, hessian, a coarse fabric made from natural fibers like jute, is commonly used to wrap their roots, providing protection during transportation and handling.
