Hardenbergia violacea

Hardenbergia violacea is a vigorous, evergreen climber valued for its cascading clusters of pea-shaped flowers that appear from late Winter into Spring. The rich purple flowers create a striking display against glossy green foliage, attracting bees and other pollinators. Ideal for covering fences, trellises, arches, or banks, it also works well as a spreading ground cover where support is not available. Once established, it is hardy and tolerant of dry conditions.

Perfect for screening, softening fences and walls, covering pergolas, stabilising slopes, or spilling over retaining walls. Suits native, coastal, cottage, and informal gardens.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. Prefers moderate moisture while establishing but tolerates dry periods once established. Space plants approximately 1.5–2m apart.

Reaches approximately 2–3m high with support and spreads 2–3m wide.
