Taxus baccata Semperaurea - Gold Irish Yew - is a dense and bushy evergreen, with bright-gold new growth in spring, slowly softening to a rich yellow through summer. The golden yellow needles tinge orange through the winter months. It is a slow growing plant that if given space can reach up to 3m in height and spread but it is incredibly versatile and can be clipped to make a superb hedging subject. It also makes for a beautiful solitary specimen plant and its golden yellow foliage looks incredible when planted in a lawn area. Growing in all soils and in any aspect, it is also pollution tolerant making a good urban plant. It will also grow appily in either full shade or sunshine, although for the best colouration plant in the brightest conditions.
