Fagus sylvatica Dawyck Gold, also known as Golden Dawyck Beech, is a strikingly upright, columnar, deciduous tree and a variant of the European Beech. Its main feature is its brilliant golden-yellow spring foliage that changes to a lime green in summer, and then transitions to an attractive gold-bronze in autumn. This tree is slow-growing but can eventually reach impressive heights of up to 8-10 metres, with a spread of just 2-4 metres due to its narrow form. It prefers well-drained soils and can be planted in either full sun or partial shade. Due to its height and narrow form, it's an excellent choice for a focal point in the landscape or for creating a colourful screen or hedge. It is generally low maintenance and resistant to most pests and diseases.
