Acer platanoides Nigrum, commonly known as the Black Norway Maple, is a distinctive deciduous tree known for its striking, dark foliage. The large, five-lobed leaves emerge red in spring, maturing to a dark, almost black-green throughout the summer before turning to brilliant shades of yellow and orange in the autumn. This robust tree thrives in a variety of soil conditions, but prefers a sunny to partly shaded position. It's widely appreciated for its tolerance to pollution and urban conditions, making it an ideal choice for street and park plantings. In addition, it's often used as a shade or specimen tree in larger gardens. Mature size can reach up to 10-15m in height and 8m in width.
